New member: Roxanne Kindersley
Roxanne Kindersley is a sculptor and letterer. Born in Bath, when Roxanne first visited the Cardozo Kindersley Workshop in 2009 a pencil was thrust into her hand; she then sat down at a stone and never left.
With a background in illustration, scenic design and prop making, the transition into stone gave a welcome permanence to skills that had been honed in travelling theatre.
After an extended mentorship under renowned craftswoman Dr Lida Kindersley MBE with a focus on design, fine carving and business management, she took her formal Workshop lettering apprenticeship in 2015. Now running the Cardozo Kindersley Workshop alongside Lida, she stepped into the role of Partner in 2023.
Underpinned by a love of lettering, her skills evolved to encompass sculptural portraiture, printing and graphic design, leading her to undertake major sculpture and lettering commissions for many public and private bodies.
Passionate about passing on her knowledge Roxanne conducts workshops, lectures and exhibitions and publishes articles and essays.
Roxanne was proposed for membership by Lida Lopes Cardozo, and seconded by Justin Hobson.
